How to pay your payees with Tipalti

Modified on Thu, 5 Nov at 6:23 PM

Revelator's Tipalti integration lets you pay the payees you owe money to, directly from the Review & Pay page.

Before you pay

Important Make sure you (as the payor) and the payees you want to pay have completed their Tipalti Connection and set Tipalti as their payment preference in Revelator before you pay with Tipalti. Payees can only choose Tipalti once your Tipalti integration is connected.

To connect Tipalti as the payor, go to Account → Integrations, open the Payments tab, and click Connect on Tipalti. For the full setup, see Tipalti Payor Connection (NEW Tipalti Accounts) or Tipalti Payor Connection (Existing Tipalti Accounts).

Step 1: Approve the statements

Approve the statements in Royalties → Statements. See Approving and Sending Royalty Statements.

Step 2: Find the payees to pay

  1. Go to Royalties → Review & Pay.
  2. Review the list of payees and their balance due.

  • Payees who weren't invited to the payee portal, or who don't have a payment method, don't appear on this page.
  • By default, the Balance greater than min. filter is on, and the Payout blocked and Account locked filters are off. Click the filter icon to change them, or filter by Payment provider to show only Tipalti payees.

Step 3: Pay the payee

  1. Select the Tipalti payee you want to pay, then click Review & Pay.
  2. In the Review & Pay window, check the payee details and Balance Due.
  3. Check the Payment Amount and Process Date. You can add a Subject and Notes.
  4. Click Send Payment. The payee is paid through Tipalti.

Note You pay a payee's balance. Paying in Revelator creates the payment transaction automatically, so the payee's balance goes down by the amount you paid. After a full payment, the payee's balance is zero.

Step 4: Find your payment

The payment appears in Royalties → Payment History and on the payee's Transactions page. Use the All Payments, Pending, Paid, and Returned tabs, or click the filter icon to filter by Payment provider.

Tip If a payment fails, see How to Retry Failed Tipalti Payments to Payees.
