Lyrics are not displaying on the DSP

Modified on Fri, 10 Jul at 6:39 PM

Lyrics help fans connect with your music across streaming and social platforms. Many major DSPs now support displaying lyrics, including Spotify, Apple Music, Amazon Music, Deezer, Instagram, YouTube Music, TIDAL, and more.

However, each DSP decides how lyrics are sourced. Some DSPs can receive lyrics through a distributor delivery feed, while others rely on dedicated lyric providers such as Musixmatch or LyricFind.

Lyrics delivered through Revelator

Revelator can deliver lyrics metadata to selected DSPs that support receiving lyrics through our delivery feed.

Supported DSPs include:

  • Anghami
  • Apple Music
  • Boomplay
  • NetEase
  • Tencent
NoteDelivering lyrics does not guarantee they will appear on a DSP. Each service controls approval, processing, availability, and display.

Adding lyrics through Musixmatch

Many major streaming and social platforms source lyrics through Musixmatch, including:

  • Spotify
  • Apple Music
  • Amazon Music
  • Instagram
  • Shazam
  • TIDAL
  • Facebook
  • Vevo
  • JioSaavn

To add or update your lyrics:

  1. Create a Musixmatch account.
  2. Claim your artist profile through Musixmatch for Artists.
  3. Find your release.
  4. Add or edit your lyrics.
  5. Sync your lyrics line-by-line if you want time-synced lyrics.
  6. Submit your changes for review.

Once approved, Musixmatch makes your lyrics available to supported DSP partners.

Do I need to pay to add lyrics?

No. Artists can create a Musixmatch account and contribute lyrics directly.

Musixmatch also offers paid plans with additional professional features, such as enhanced artist tools, catalog management, and pre-release workflows, but a paid subscription is not required simply to submit lyrics.

Adding lyrics through LyricFind

Some DSPs may also source lyrics through LyricFind, including platforms such as:

  • Deezer
  • Pandora
  • YouTube Music

Revelator does not currently deliver lyrics through LyricFind. If you need to manage lyrics through LyricFind you will need to work directly with LyricFind.

Why are my lyrics not showing?

If your lyrics are missing from a DSP:

  • Confirm your lyrics were submitted through the correct lyrics provider.
  • Make sure your artist name, track title, and metadata match your release.
  • Check that your lyrics follow the provider formatting guidelines.
  • Allow time after approval for DSP processing.
ImportantRevelator cannot control lyric approval times, synchronization, or whether a DSP displays lyrics. These processes are managed by each DSP and lyrics provider.
