CONTEXT

As we launch the new dashboard interface (v2), there will be a transition period during which your clients and yourself will be able to switch back and forth between the old and new interface.

If you are using a custom white-label URL, you need to update your DNS records to enable for this because the new and old dashboard each need their own different URL.

INTRUCTIONS

  • Go to the website where you can modify your DNS records. DNS records are typically maintained by your Domain Name Registrar (GoDaddy, NameCheap, etc), but they can also have been transferred to a 3rd party like Cloudflare.
    • IF YOU ALREADY HAVE AN ACTIVE CUSTOM (WHITE-LABEL) DOMAIN SET UP FOR YOUR REVELATOR ACCOUNT
      1. Add an additional CNAME record pointing from the URL where you want to host the new dashboard (for ex: v2.musiccompany.com) and point this to:
        app.revelator.pro
      2. Leave the TTL field to Auto (if that option is provided) or else change it to 300
      3. Keep your existing CNAME record for the old dashboard which is pointing (for ex: distro.musiccompany.com) to:
        revelatorapp-csp.azurewebsites.net
    • IF YOU DO NOT ALREADY HAVE AN ACTIVE CUSTOM (WHITE-LABEL) DOMAIN SET UP FOR YOUR REVELATOR ACCOUNT (IN OTHER WORDS: YOU NEED TO SET UP A CUSTOM URL FOR THE FIRST TIME FOR BOTH THE NEW AND OLD DASHBOARD)

Note that in all cases, it can take anywhere from a few minutes to 36 hours for your dashboard to be accessible through the new custom URL as domain name servers across the internet need to register the change (this delay is out of our control).
